Ældste Mod, Choir boy

My guy Ældste Farr and I with a funny ceiling

Hey what's up everybody!

I had a way better week this week. Sorry if it was a little bit of a downer last week, so let's dive right in!

I have sung in the choir every week since I came on a mission. I sang in a stake choir concert and for Stake Conference and in a missionary choir of 8 missionaries to 1/3 of Denmark so like.... that's cool... If any of you know me, I haven't taken choir since the seventh grade so this is new but it's a lot of fun! It's a little difficult because I am translating, trying to hit notes and follow all the different parts sooo I'm not great but it is a lot of fun!

This week was way good because your boy can FINALLY do street contacts and all that stuff in Danish by myself (with my comp there of course). Danish is still crazy and they talk so fast but like it's awesome. I am in awe sometimes hahaha. It is way more comfortable for me to do contacts in Danish than English, and way easier to pray in Danish. I am forgetting my English so I guess that's a good sign.

The comps in Copenhagen
For those of you who were scared for me in the cold... it is currently 30 degrees warmer in Denmark than Utah. Just way more humid. It is like mid-50s every day which is good to be in, but sometimes it pours and other times you walk through the Danish death mist (when it is 98 percent humidity and way windy). It just shreds your skin sometimes. Good times.

This week we helped a lot of people transfer and so I drove a car through Copenhagen for a while. Bikers are freaky! I also gave my first Priesthood anointing in Danish and had an opportunity to talk to the Mom and teach her a fair bit! Good things are happening over here!

Also, if any of you have seen the Testaments, I know and talk to the guy who plays Jesus in that. So ya Denmark is way cool!

Love you all! Have a good week!

Ældste Mod and the dynamic trio (part 2)

Found some sunglasses in the van

Hey everybody! It's ya boy back at it again.....

Whatta week, whatta week. Time is cruising everyone. CRUISING.

This week I got done with transfer number 1 out here in the land. We had some cool stuff happen too, so let's start there. First off, last Pday we went to a place called Tivoli. It's basically just a massive theme park and it was super dope. We went with a bunch of missionaries and our friend Holly and we rode on a roller coaster and went through a haunted house. Lots of fun for missionaries hahahah.

Tivoli
Okay time for some spiritual stuff: We were out contacting on the streets and we were talking to this man who was a member of the church of Scientology (he tried to convert us) but anywayyys there was this dude that was watching us for a while. He looked way friendly and I thought he was trying to walk past us. He was not... He waited for our convo to end and then he just walked up and asked if we were the Mormons. We gave him the "uhh yeah kinda" and proceeded to talk to him for like 30 minutes. It was incredible. He is fluent in Hebrew and has all these good qualities that scream GOLDEN to us so that is cool. He knows some of what we believe in and he wanted to meet again and gave us his number. You have to understand in Denmark that DOES NOT HAPPEN. People do not interact with people on the street at all. So I am hoping my guy will pull through and actually want to learn more. He loved our names and our "glow and brightness we have about us." Yeah we were way happy!

Ældste Friedbaum and Ældste Mod
Some bad stuff that happened.... We had a friend named Effy that was an absolute Hygge monster. (AKA she just likes to talk about non-missionary stuff for hours and then kills the convo when we try to teach). She is this older Greek lady. We went over to teach her and she just had us move some heavy stuff down 5 flights of stairs. We didn't even get a lesson in so that was rough. We ended up telling her that we wouldn't be coming back and that was hard to reject someone who just wanted friends. She is so nice but just uses missionaries to move stuff for her. So yeah that sucked bad.

But on the upside I got an additional companion now that transfers are over! So we are bringing back the dynamic trio from the MTC... kinda... So Ældste Friedbaum and I now have another companion from Amager. His name is Ældste Farr and he is dope. He was our old District Leader so yeah, we like him!

Danish - still whack (but had a full convo with a girl we met on the street about the US and Denmark so like it's coming)
Denmark - still raining
Ældste Mod - still living
Sunlight - fading, but this place is super dope. I love it!
Songs I had stuck in my head this week: Right Back // Khalid, Panda // Desiigner (ya idk either) The Night We Met // Lord Huron

Love you all! Have a good week!
