Pictures only this week. :)

Tate was too busy with transfers to write this week, but he sent a few pictures. He’s down to 12 weeks left on his mission! Time is flying.

A Texas Sheet Cake Kinda Week

These rune stones are so cool!
Heyyyyo!

I will attempt to keep this short.... which I tend to be rather bad at.... but whatever, let's hop on into the week!

We had a service appointment on Tuesday... it was funny. We pulled up to this lady's garden and her husband / boyfriend (I am still not sure which to be honest) was waiting for us there. He said that she would be there soon and then 30 minutes passed. Finally, she pulled up and had us take some grass out of a hole she had dug and put down a box spring in said hole.... then we covered it in a tarp so she could sleep on it. Afterward, she grabbed some random PVC pipe-looking things and told us to build a canopy... No sweat, we figured it out, hahah. Nice lady. We talked about her conversion story (and some very wild stories) and she gave us some really good pastries and treats. It was a funny appointment for sure, especially when her friend pulled up. Good times.

The man famous for his Texas sheet cake. :)
We went on splits with my friends Ældste Fisher and Ældste Cousins in Herning. Ældste Cousins is mission-renowned for his Texas sheet cake. We pulled up and he had some ready for us. Man, I ate way too much sheet cake but I don't regret it. That stuff is niceeeee. Herning was fun as well. We welcomed a new senior couple and helped them figure out tech stuff on their phones. Then went contacting and all that. It was nice and the sun stayed up for a long time. That is so nice and welcomed after a long dark winter.

After, we headed to Aarhus with Ældste Paulsen and Ældste Møller. It was fun being with the two Danes. We even got to eat with a family that I love from Aarhus. Shout out to the Perkins! They are so dope. On the way home from their house we stopped by a supermarket and snagged some nougat croissants because Ældste Møller loves them. The man bought NINE. Whatta legend. We hit the evening contacting there as well. Denmark is such a great place. I highly recommend it. Not biased at all.

Eating the best pastries in the world!
We also had in-person district council meeting this week. That's always a plus. Iceland zone conference was this week too. We joined in for the first 15-ish minutes over Zoom... I hope to be there in person one day though.... hahaha.

We are headed to the temple today to do baptisms for the dead! I am super stoked for it! I am very thankful for temples and their power, as well as the fact that I am able to attend today for the first time in a while.

Love you all so much! Have a good week!

A hot pepper challenge....

Howdy everybody! Quick little recap email, hope you enjoy!

This week was pretty normal... except we were on splits a couple times, which for me seems like a very, very normal thing considering I pack up and sleep in another apartment about twice a week these days lol. We were with Ældste Hintze and Ældste Neiderman in Roskilde and that was good fun. Nobody was feeling like talking to us, what's new? Hahah! Eventually we knocked on a door and a girl from the US opened up and talked to us about Utah because she lived there for a sec.. She spoke in perfect Danish with the accent and everything, and she had only lived here for 5 years... wild. She was the only nice person of the day lol. But we had a good time with them. We even snagged some funky looking, delicious Turkish pizzas.

We also went on splits with the tech elders. We tried to do lots of sports contacting by playing soccer and basketball on the streets of Copenhagen. It was lots of fun, but we didn't meet too many people who were interested. It must have been quite the sight seeing four dudes in white shirts, ties and name tags walking the ghettos of Copenhagen playing basketball. We met this cool guy named Nikolaj though. After all that we grabbed treats at a local supermarket and found habaneros and Carolina Reaper peppers on sale... So we had to try them. It's not every day where we can try two of the hottest peppers in the world. They burned my mouth for like 20 seconds, then my face went numb and my ears were tingling.. good times not to be forgotten hahaha.

We had a couple of eating appointments which were fun. We got to explore this city called Kalundborg which I really like the vibe of. It's a super pretty coastal town. And of course we ate lots of pastries because why not? You only live in Denmark once right?

I am doing well! Love and miss you all! See you guys in under 100 days! (I think. I don't actually know what the exact number is lol.)

First Sunburn of the Year + A Prophet's Voice= a week full of Danish holidays

God Påske! Happy Easter! Your one and only Ældste Modersitzki back again. I don't really know how it has been a week already, but time is cruising! I write too much usually so I will attempt to keep her short this week.

We started off the week by heading to Zone Conference in Aarhus with the office elders over in Jylland. It was a good time for sure! It was the first in-person Zone Conference that we have had since last July or something like that. Kinda wild. It only was an hour and a half in person and then an online session later in the evening. Because of the church building which we were at, our laptop was set up away from the main chapel and I accidentally cut off Præsident Olsen with a video for part of his training.... lollll my bad. The online portion went fine and our training was short but pretty good. We just talked about habits and doing small things every day to be better. We also had a testimony meeting about the Book of Mormon for the zone. We had just finished up reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days so that was good!

Then for an intermission we went on splits with our friends down in Odense, Ældste Christensen and Ældste Croft. Ældste Croft is brand new so we really went hard haha. It was great to see them again and work down in their area. Odense is pretty sick! We snagged them some nice pastries as y'all would expect and shared the love. We also got to see a monument dedicated to Hans Christian Andersen (Danish fairytale guy) on his bday. Shout out to him lol.

Sjælland zone conference went about the same... Didn't cut off Præsident Olsen this time hahah but instead tried to mute a senior missionary and accidentally skipped the video that was playing.... Big ole facepalm to round that boy off hahahah.

After Sjælland ZC the Bornholm elders (Ældste Brown and Ældste Hogge) got to stay over and watch General Conference with us. It was a riot. Those dudes are so fun. Plus General Conference was super good. My favorite talk was for sure President Nelson's talk about faith. It felt like a slap in the face directed to me to get my faith together and get going hahaha. It was definitely one of the moments where he was speaking and I could just feel that he was inspired and a prophet. He was answering doubts I didn't even know I had. Super good stuff in there.

On the topic of spirituality, I started studying the New Testament with the Institute study manual and mannnnn that is so helpful. The stories in the Bible feel much more real!

We got to hit some service this week, I love service. We just moved some brick tile things for one of my favorite families in Denmark. Then we had a little break before dinner and it was way nice outside so we tossed around the football in our car. I ended up getting my first sunburn of the year.... it was 61 degrees and had a low UV index.... gonna be a long summer for me if it stays this way hahah.

Fun Facts:

 • The Denmark Copenhagen mission has more sisters than elders, and if things stay the same we will almost end up having more elders in Iceland than Denmark.... That has never happened before... ever.

• Denmark has like 4 or 5 holidays the week of Easter which correlate to biblical events. They get work off on Thursday (the day Christ washed the disciples feet), Friday (Good Friday/ Crucifixion), Saturday (no good reason there honestly... just felt like not working), Sunday (resurrection), and Monday (a day to recover from the Easter hangover), so buying food is a tough one these days with nearly every store closed hahaha.

Anyways this boy got LONG, Happy Easter from Denmark!

Love from Skovvejen,

Ældste Modersitzki
