Coulda started a gardening business...

Whatta week! Not a ton of time but whatever, let's hit it!

We started off the week right with some good old service! We worked on weeding out a hedge for a while and had another lady walk past and ask if we could help her next week! So, I mean, the garden work is picking up.

That night we went to this place called Rungsted and saw these massive houses and I figured out that it was the richest street in Denmark. It was lit! We played the guitar and tossed a football around on a beach with some other missionaries and taught a funny lesson to a lady and her friends. It was an experience I won't forget, hahaha.

We had zone conference over Zoom and it was nice! I was able to introduce Elder Vestergaard to the mission and the trainings were great!

My dad's bday was on the 25th so I was able to ring home to him and he sponsored a burger run for me and my companion for his bday! He's such a legend! Everybody who knows Marc loves Marc!

Friday was SOOO busy! We had 2 service appointments that we needed special permission to get more service hours for. We took out a lady's whole overgrown garden, threw all but a tree and a bush away, and then flattened and cleaned up the edges to place one of those weed tarps down and cover it with wood chips. It was super professional looking. I should have taken a before and after picture. It was wildly different. Then we went to another lady's house and disassembled some pallets. It took a long time and I was sore after, not gonna lie, and I got super dirty. But a good day's work nevertheless.

Then, we had a lesson after picking up some food from a member. We taught someone I met over Facebook a while ago about the Plan of Salvation and it went way well!

We also had another lady reach out wanting to learn more and Ældste Vestergaard took that lesson like a champ!

We also had splits with the APs! We showed them around Hillerød, grabbed a kebab, and saw the castle! We did some Facebook work as well!

Our mission had a devotional from the man who painted the inside of the Copenhagen temple as well as the mural behind the Christus in Rome. He gave us some fire insights. It was really cool.

Good week! Lots of lessons (for Denmark).

The big 1-9

The Queen's castle
Hey guys! Not much time so I better hop on into it!

I turned 19 this week! We celebrated my birthday by doing some service and getting a pair of socks from a member that was super nice! Then a member wanted to bake me a cake, so we picked that up and it was way good.... Then went to go get some burgers.... of course with milkshakes and fries. I'll drop a pic below... Way fire. Then we walked around the Frederiksberg castle and did some work there, and finished it off with eating with the members we lived with. They gave me some gifts and more cake. They are so nice and they make super good food.... I gotta work out more...

Anywayyyyyysssss

Earlier this week we had a Facebook finding party with the district! It was fun! We took some ping pong, basketball and soccer breaks as well! It was soooo nice. I loved it. Then we got some FIRE burritos from the only Mexican food in the entire country. The meat was marinated in Coca Cola and I fell in love. I miss Mexican food.

We had some good member lessons and all that, but no real success over Facebook. We will push again this next week!

We saw the castle that the queen lives in! It is super pretty! I'll drop some pics.

Love y'all and hope all is well!

East to West (Øst til Vest)

Tate picking up his new companion, Ældste Vestergaard
Hello everybody! This week was odd. I had a gnarly headache/migraine, so this week was long but still good.

Tuesday was kinda weird. I dropped off Ældste Østegaard and said goodbye. It was kinda sad, but I was excited to pick up Ældste Vestergaard... From his house.... Which was odd. But also way sick! I drove like 3 hours to the other side of the country with the APs. I guess that means I've seen nearly all of Denmark! Kinda crazy. I got to talk to his family and they were able to get some clarity on what this mission is and what we do. They are very cool people as well, so that was fun. It was weird having him say goodbye to his family as I watched, but he will see them again at the temple, because he hasn't gone through yet, and at the airport before he goes to his original assignment in New Zealand. It's funny because I knew his grandparents in Copenhagen long before I knew him. Small world out here.

Food this week : the burgers and fries from a place called Sunset Boulevard were nice. We also had a member make us some fire pulled pork! We eat well. I also made Ældste Vestergaard try a Pop Tart for the first time today. He likes them! Shout out to the USA.

I've been to a bunch of castles before, but I wanted to go again to show Ældste Vestergaard because he hasn't ever seen them!! How wild! So enjoy some pics!

We did some service as well this week for a guy who knows some members living in Salt Lake City! After our window washing and hedge trimming I asked to be friends on Facebook and he said yeah, typed in his name and we figured out we have a mutual friend that is a member in Copenhagen. Small world part 2!

I'm whipping Lamentations in my Old Testament grind. Weird but good stuff!

We had John Bytheway give another devotional to our mission and man, he spits fire and is so funny! There is always something to learn from him.

District meeting and splits were of course fun! As usual!

I think that's all folks! Have a fire week!

Love,

ET KÆMPEBRØD

Howdy! Mod is still in Denmark. The sun comes up at like 4:30 a.m. and goes down at like 10 p.m., so I take back my complaints about how dark it was. The work is still moving along and we are having a little bit of success, so let's dive on in.

First off we have been trying new ways to do Facebook finding and I've been joining different groups of interest in Denmark like basketball and football groups. It's been fun trying out a lot of things! We also had a lesson this last week with someone I have been talking to for the last month! She said she would like to have a Book of Mormon and try to learn more. I was hyped and got that all set up! I also had a break in all the Bible bashing, but sadly that ended today. It was still was nice to know that I could defend the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Being loving is still key though.

This week we had Zone Conference in person for the first time in 3 months! It was so awesome to see everyone again. We had a big announcement that we are allowed to kind of begin street contacting again... I haven't tried yet but it will be exciting. At Zone Conference we tried to social distance but it doesn't work that well with a bunch of missionaries that haven't seen each other in a while...

Zone Conference
We also had interviews with our mission president. We laugh a lot and have a good time. We talked a lot about how I'm starting training here on the 9th. I'm nervous but very excited to see how this goes, hahaha.

We had church this last week for the first time in a while, I haven't had church for nearly a third of my mission, so you could say it was nice to be back. Passing the sacrament was weird. I was wearing a mask and gloves, dropping bread into people's hands and picking up empty water cups with a bowl. No singing either. But there was still a good spirit.

Ældste Østergaard playing the piano in the woods.
Some random stuff... Found a cool Danish windmill this week. Got some pics. Found a random piano in the woods... Doesn't work very well though. Also finally got a haircut, it was very needed.

There is a bakery about 5 minutes away from our house that makes MASSIVE BREAD aka Kæmpebrød. And we decided to deliver it as a surprise to the members that we live with. We nearly got away when it when we heard, "What is this massive thing on the table? It's a KÆMPEBRØD!" I started to die from laughing so hard. We ended up eating some of it later with them and they gave us a big amount to take home.

The kæmpebrød
The end of the Østergaard, Modersitzki power squad is tomorrow but I'll end it with a funny story. We were doing our Facebook finding out in the city but the weather wasn't very good so we stayed in our car and kept the battery on. Needless to say, our car died so we started asking people around if they had jumper cables, they didn't. We ran to a gas station and asked a guy to help and he said yes! We asked if he had cables and he said no but he thought he could start that car without... We got to the car and it is an automatic so it wouldn't work. We then had to run back to the gas station and buy some cables and run back. We had an spiritual thought in a members garden right after... We were a little late to say the least (hahah) but all went well!

Love y'all! Have a good one!

Love from the newest trainer in the Danish mission,

Fish and Chips

Ældste Østergaard & Ældste in front of the Copenhagen temple
First of all, lemme just say that this week was fantastic weather-wise. Like wow. I even got burnt and a little tan too. Man it was nice. Nothing near the Utah heat though.

We are still going hard with Facebook finding. We have been doing a fair bit of it while chilling outside and that makes it 1000000x better. We decided to get into an area group and offer some outside service help. We got over 400 likes and a bunch of positive comments, plus we have all of our service hours taken up for the next couple of weeks. It makes it so fun when people like what you are doing, hahaha. There are still some downsides. I got left on "read" by a couple people that I thought were actually interested, and then one guy tossed an anti-Mormon video up right after... It's whatever though. Just not his time. Let me just say that after talking to people and defending my beliefs for this long, I've learned how true the gospel is. No one can shake me right now, or hopefully ever. Like dang, our church really has it all covered. It makes sense both spiritually and logically. Gotta love the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Speaking of the restored gospel, we have been sharing spiritual messages with the members of our ward by visiting them in their yards as well as over the phone. It's been nice to go get some work done and go to bed tired. Plus getting to know the members has been really good. We also got to visit Ældste Østergaard's grandparents who live like 7 minutes away from our apartment and our president gave us permission to give him a blessing. Man, it was powerful. Priesthood power is the bomb.

We got a big announcement that church is coming back to Denmark this week!! Of course there will be restrictions, but I'm excited to see how it goes!

We visited some cool places this week! We walked around the Frederiksborg Castle and did some Facebook finding there. We also visited the northernmost city on this side of the country called Gilleleje, saw Sweden again, and got the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life. Plus, a Jehovah's Witness tried to Bible bash with us while we were eating and that was an adventure. We just thanked him for believing in Christ and sharing some Bible verses with us after he kept telling us that God and Jesus have only one name and we politely disagreed. He was a nice enough guy.

James the Mormon also gave an incredible devotional for us this week. He was super open and honest with us and it was very nice of him. He gave me a lot of motivation. He is a super good guy. If anyone knows him... Tell him he is dope and the Danish mission loves him.

Big shout out to all the seniors who just graduated! Y'all deserve the world.

Bigger shout out to my sister Shae with her birthday this week! Love you!

Have a good week y'all. Find some joy and read some scriptures this week.

Love from Den Danske Mission
