The Week I Lost My Duolingo Streak + Elder Conference + Mitt Romney?

Hey everyone! Hope y'all had a fire 24th of July. Not gonna lie, my 24th was the best... I'll tell y'all all about it!

I had a sad experience with my Duolingo streak of about 150 days... I forgot to keep it up on Tuesday, and sadly it passed away... Rip Mod's Duolingo streak (2020-2020).

Remember how the 4th of July was awful for me? Well, I was expecting the same thing with the 24th... Then we got called up saying we had an Elders only conference in Odense that day... with 2 hours of playing sports. I nearly wept. We had some great ideas and trainings, but playing American football again was the greatest feeling in the world (even though I felt like I was going to puke from the cookies and soda from beforehand....) TMI? Maybe, but that's how it is. I'm still sore from that game even though it was just 2-hand touch... Guess my morning workouts have been lacking, but my team won and I caught 3 TD passes.... So my back hurt from carrying too... Hahahah I'm just kidding.

We had an awesome opportunity to teach and give out a Book of Mormon to a lady we had been doing service for. She was way willing to read and was super happy to accept it! She knows a lot of good things about the church and was happy to talk to us about it! We got a return appointment with her this week for the Plan of Salvation! Big W! We also had another lesson over the phone with a lady we've been teaching for a while! We helped answer some looming questions she had and I think she might come to church next week! Exciting stuff!

I had another burger this week.... Sorry not sorry. It was way good though.

I went on splits with ZL Stowe! He served in my area earlier, and the members here love him, so we visited a bunch of them and ate SO MUCH. I thought I was gonna die. We also went knocking and all that good stuff but it was nice because my relationship with the members was strengthened so much. Little blessings folks. Little blessings.

Speaking of blessings, I get to go through the temple with Ældste Vestergaard for his first time! I'm so excited! I feel like I'm almost a part of his family, hahahah. Add that to the list of things I've been able to be a part of!

I got a letter this week from Mitt Romney. Kinda random, but if any of you who read these remember the one lady that I invited to baptism a while ago, she loved Mitt Romney and sought out the church because of him. He sent me a letter of encouragement! It was sooo cool!

Big shout out to my sister Shae for getting engaged to Colten! Y'all are awesome and I'm super pumped for y'all!

That's it folks. Thanks for reading. Have a great week!

and we're back

The two "Ældste Modersitzkis"
Hey everyone! Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! Denmark is doing well in relation to Corona so that's awesome! Let's dive in.

We had zone conference this week and it was awesome! Lots of stuff about revelation and goal setting and it was honestly perfect for what I needed help with. Plus, seeing everybody is super fun! I freaking love the missionaries here. They are super awesome! We also had some FIRE news! We can go and knock on doors again! Of course we can't go in any homes, but I'm excited to try it out and see people's reactions! We also got word that 5 new sisters are coming into our mission from America! Denmark is SO CLOSE people, SO CLOSE to being back to normal! I hope it stays that way. We also got some way nice food as well!

We taught 2 lessons this week! So that's pretty good! (Remember it's Denmark.) The Plan of Salvation is still straight happiness. Don't you forget it! :)

We had 4 eating appointments this week with members and ALL of the food was sooooo good! I over ate every time and felt totally okay about it because I'm literally a stick. But man, I love this ward, especially when they cook my companion and I a nice steak.

We did a ton of service this week because we got our service hours extended to 10 instead of 4! There was lots of hard work and funny experiences. I'm a little sore, not gonna lie. We even got a lesson planned this week because of one of the appointments!

We went and snagged some ice cream one day out at a harbor in a small town. You can bet it was tied for best ice cream I've ever had (square scoop in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. If you know, you know), and we started a convo with a fishing bro. He talked to us about fishing for like 30 minutes and I was LOST. I didn't really catch a whole lot with the fishing terms being tossed around, but it's whatever. Good thing I have a Danish comp!

I FINALLY finished the Old Testament! I'm super proud of myself and I got a lot of new knowledge and confirmations out of it. Good stuff! That book is true!

I met Ældste Vestergaard's grandparents in the streets of Hillerød this week! It's kinda funny because I've now met my trainee's parents, siblings, 2 cousins, and both sets of grandparents! What a wild world!

Ældste Vestergaard forgot his name tag to one of our lessons.... so I spotted him with one of mine! I'm the last Elder Modersitzki since my dad served... But on that day we had not one Modersitzki, but TWO. People were a little confused to say the least. Hahaha!

I've taken back-2-back Ls in chess so I'm hoping to get my vibe back this week.....

Have a great week! Love all of you!

Love from a sub par chess player,

"0-12, Low Fade"

Holla Holla wassup? I'm here in Denmark back at ittttt.

This week was uneventful, not gonna lie. We did some good service OF COURSE. Like we always do. Did that hard work. Y'all know what we do hahaha. Garden work and general cleaning... It's lit.

We had another Facebook workshop this week with the district. We did some good work with some workouts with it. Man, my legs were sore and I only did like 35 squats. I guess it's something to work on hahahah.

We ate with some nice members this week. The people we live with are awesome and we always have a good time with them. We were also able to eat with a member on her birthday! We whipped up to a rip house and I had some fire ribs and a baked potato. Mmmmnnnn it was nice. It was so fun and we surprised her with a card and chocolate. She loved it! Her husband was also with as well and we were just laughing it up with him! Really good people I tell ya.

I hit my 11-month mark this week! Yehaw! Also, Ældste Vestergaard hit his 1 month mark! So that's cool.

No real good Facebook finding stories this week. Sorry. Also, I'm gonna finish the Old Testament tomorrow... Sorry part 2.

I got a nice fade.... Kinda looks funny to me but I've heard that's the good stuff! It felt nice to finally get a haircut though.

Today we visited a really cool sand sculpture place. These things were HUGE! Like taller than me! And with so much detail too! It was sooooo sick! Definitely would recommend. I got a flæskesteg sandwich while we were there. If you don't know what that is.... I'm sorry. I hope you get one before you die. They are that good.

I'm doing good out here. Spreading the hype of the gospel!

Have a good week!

Love from Hundested,

Happy America Day!

The full 4th of July outfit
Hey everyone! Hope y'all are doing well! You know who it is, been hearing from me for like forever. Let's hop in!

We made a video this week for Facebook and it was just Elder Vestergaard using his soccer skills and booting a soccer ball for a cross-bar challenge but with a message! It has gotten a bunch of responses and has been pretty successful! So that's a W! Big blessings out here!

We had a pop-up random lesson with a nice lady we have been teaching about our belief in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. It went really well! We were feeling very inspired and felt like we should invite her to church... She said she would come! It was awesome! Then, unfortunately, she got sick a couple of days before and wasn't so sure she could come. So, I brought up the idea of the online meeting from Copenhagen and she watched that! It was great!

We had another Facebook finding party this week and it was pretty good! It was super effective and it gave me some new ideas! We played some card games as well after. Don't worry Larson fam, we played some Rat Spit / Egyptian Rat Screw and I won. So, I guess I have a little of my mom's side in me, hahah.

We had some nice eating appointments with some members and they keep complimenting my Danish. It was feeding my ego a little too much. So, I guess I'll be working on humility this week; and I'll keep working on my Danish too.

Also, I haven't kept my Bible study up like I wanted to... But that's okay; I can always improve. I'm in the end of Ezekiel right now and I want to be finished by next week, so I'm telling y'all so I will really do it! Hahahah I hope this works!

Splits with Neiderman
I had splits this week with my guy ZL Neiderman and he is super cool! We get along really well and we just had a great time, did some good work and played some chess. I've played more chess in the last three weeks than the rest of my life combined (minus the chess merit badge). So, my life is just soooooo lit.

The 4th of July was the worst, to be honest. I love America so I had on my George Washington socks (shout out to my sister, Paige), my blue pants, and my red and white striped tie because patriotism. I just didn't really celebrate much and it rained and was gloomy... Gotta say, Denmark does not do the best America celebrations...  But, like it's fine lol. I'll add some pics below.

I think that's about it! I hit 11 months tomorrow!! That is so wild. I'm kinda an old missionary now.

Love y'all! Have a good week.
