The Polish Way ft Interviews

Howdyyyyy! How y'all been? It's been a wild week. Hope y'all are ready!

We started off the week right by going on splits with the APs. I was paired with Ældste Neiderman. I have been on splits with him SOOOO many times, and that's just fine with me. We are good homies. He could almost be considered my companion lol. We had a good time contacting and knocking. Who is ready for a wild story that will probably scare my mom? Buckle up. We were knocking and had just found someone who was willing to have us come back and teach, so we were feeling pretty good. We knocked on another door and a guy opened up and just gave the usual not interested answers. As we were about to leave he hit us with an "Ikke kom igen," which translates to "Don't come back" and then lifted up his sweatshirt to show us the PISTOL he had chilling in his waistband hahahahaha. We were like, "You got it dude!" I wasn't actually scared, but it was WILD. I would never have expected that to happen in Denmark.

We had a ton of eating appointments this week. We have been working on member relations here and it's finally paying off a little. We have challenged the members to do some missionary work and if they do, they will get in return a homemade dinner made by yours truly. It's gonna be worth it. They seem to be willing to try it though, so that makes me happy.

Eating at his beloved Burger Shack

We had interviews down in Aalborg as well as district council. President Olsen and I are just homies, we just kinda hang out a little bit. It is refreshing to talk to him and his wife. They are super dope. And for those who actually read these you know I LOVE Burger Shack.... so we pulled up and snagged some after interviews. They were playing some good music that matched the outdoorsy vibe and I felt like I was eating a burger up AF canyon.  I was having such a good time.

NOW FOR THE REAL EXCITING BIT!!

We had a lesson with our friend Grazyna from Poland on Sunday! It was a spirit-filled lesson where she conveyed her experiences with feeling the spirit while reading the Book of Mormon and I was just like YES GRAZYNA YES! I had promised her that she would feel the spirit and gain a witness if she did the 21-day Book of Mormon Challenge, and what do you know? God fulfills his promises! So we were just like hey Grazyna, we don't really have much else to teach you, would you like to be baptized? She was super pumped and said yes! She didn't know if she should ask us if she could be baptized, or if we needed to be the ones that initiated that conversation to tell her that she is ready. She said she had thought about it a lot recently. I was so psyched! I told her that this was a step on the road to getting sealed to her husband and she was so happy to hear that. She was so happy that she wanted to go into the commandments lesson right then and there. So yeah, Grazyna is on date for the 7th of November. Pray for her so that it all works out!

Corona is getting worse here in Denmark, we have gotten new restrictions. I just hope we don't get put back on lock down! Hoping for the best!

Love from the Havn!

XXL Pizza + Aalborg splitsssss

Hejhej! This week was solid! Sadly no teaching opportunities, but a fine week nonetheless!

We had splits down in Aalborg and I got to go out with Ældste Appleby and Ældste Cousins. It was a good time! I hadn't really served around either of them before so it was good to get to know them. We did a lot of contacting and I got to contact in downtown Aalborg for the first time! (Even though I served there for a transfer hahahah. Thanks Corona.) We had a good time and I think that Aalborg is super sick. I love that city for sure!
It was Ældste Ngatikaura's birthday on Sunday and we had to celebrate throughout the week because #sabbath, so on Saturday he bought us this XXL pizza that honestly could compete with Bear Lake pizza for the biggest pizza I have ever eaten. It was nice... we still have a ton of leftovers hahaha. I also treated him to some Burger King for lunch earlier in the week and some ice cream on Friday night. We celebrate hard in the Havn. We also are eating well here.
We have been trying to start up the member work here in Frederikshavn and we got a ton of eating appointments set up this week! I am way excited honestly. Gonna try to get some help up here!

This week I was doing my usual Facebook finding and I was playing some nice church music in the background. I decided I wanted to post something on my story with a special emphasis on Jesus Christ. I started looking through some of the missionary groups that I am in and found some beautiful pictures of Jesus Christ. I felt so at peace and loved as I focused solely on Him. It was a wonderful moment. I gotta say I need to focus more on Him in order to continue growing my testimony. Definite step forward and reminder of what I need to do.

Thanks for reading this week. I love and miss you all. Send an email if you're feeling it. I would love to hear from you!

Feelin' like Paul Bunyan

Howdyyyyy! It's Ældste Modersitzki back again from a wild week.

Started off the week strong on Tuesday by slinging an axe around like Paul Bunyan. I chopped up so much wood that I could have personally given everyone up American Fork Canyon a full bundle. Calluses were for sure popping up left and right, but honestly, it felt so nice. The smell of that freshly split wood made me feel right at home. And I got to learn how to fire a kiln and learn some pottery skills that I never thought I would ever hear/learn/see from this bro named Greg and his wife. He is an American that moved here 19-ish years ago. So that was a good time. We got rewarded with some nice sandwiches from him as well.  I also saw a stop sign for the first time in 13 months. It was funny. I took a pic hahaha.

On Wednesday, we had a mini Mission Conference (minus Iceland) and I know that sounds like a huge gathering, but it was like 36 missionaries hahahah. It was a good time. We got vaccinated and had some nice trainings from the APs and Pres as well as his wife and the 2nd counselor. They talked a lot about becoming educated missionaries and how we can achieve that. All the missionaries had a really good time as well. I love being with the people out here. I have made a ton of lifelong friends. So that was by far my favorite part. President Olsen announced that we are going to get a two-day party in Copenhagen if we do a couple of things in our mission. I REALLY hope we achieve those goals because I want in! On the way home from Mission Conference, we even got to stop by Randers and get the mission-renowned Randers' kebab. It was Ngatikaura's first time, so we had to make sure he got a good one. It was odd to be back there I have to say.
All of the Denmark Copenhagen missionaries (minus the missionaries
serving in Iceland). The mission is pretty small right now.

Mushroom hunting
We went back to Greg's the next day and he invited us out mushroom hunting in the forest with a couple of his friends. I mean, I have never gone mushroom hunting in my life, but it was an experience. Looking over the forest floor for these black mushrooms that look whack. A lady came with us who started petting moss and called everything super beautiful, then decided to give a tree a big hug. It was wild. You would have thought she maybe ate one of the mushrooms that we WEREN'T looking for. hahah. She even told us about a mouse skull she had with the teeth still intact, hahaha. She wants us to do service for her soon. Then, we chopped up some more wood and I was just swinging that axe like there was no tomorrow. It felt way good. Greg came in clutch with some burgers that had freshly picked mushrooms on 'em.... I wonder who picked those...? :)

The rest of the week was kinda mundane, but we had a great lesson with our friend Grazyna. We were able to just talk to her about some of the difficulties she is having on her path to a solid testimony. We started her up on a 21-day Book of Mormon challenge and I think she will pick up in no time. She is super strong. I love her so much! She treats me like her grandson.

Anyway, that's all for the week I think.... love y'all and thanks for reading!

ODENSE

Halløjsa! How have y'all been? Short email this week.

I felt pretty sick with migraines for like 2 or 3 days this week. It kinda shot me down in the apartment because I literally couldn't walk or turn my head without wanting to pass out. Don't worry, I'm good now. This is wayyyy normal for me hahaha. But we are back at it again.

We had MLC down in Odense, a three-and-a-half hour car drive away, because Ngatikaura is the DL. So I was his and the ZL's chauffeur hahah. I just went on splits down in Odense with this guy named Elder Paulsen. He's from Denmark and is brand spanking new to the mission. I was his first experience contacting on the mission and we got a Book of Mormon out, so that is a W. I got to see downtown Odense and it was super cool. I'd be down to serve there.
Splits with Ældste Paulsen
Other than that, I made my mom's famous cookies and cream cookies for Conference and they were superrrr good. Definitely gonna be making those again at some point. Mmmmm. Still thinking about them. And Conference was absolutely BOMB. Like I was consistently astounded by the amount of small reminders that God was giving me to help me keep my commitments to him. I'm still yet to see the last session but I'm sure it will be good.

Today was good. We saw the top of Denmark again! Saw some seals (I always enjoy that), took some pics. It was a low key kinda day. We also saw a church that was painted bright yellow. That was a first. It actually matches the rest of the country.

That's all folks! Hope y'all had a good conference weekend!
