A short email

Moving hay bales
Howdyyyyy!

This week was fine enough but I have -254 minutes to write, so sorry for how short this is in advance.

I got to give a talk this last Sunday in church! 15 minutes long, lol. It was definitely the longest talk I've given in my life besides the farewell talk before the mission. It went pretty well though, I think!

We got to do some service for this cool American guy who then fed us some pizzas! I was moving hay bales feeling like I was back in Bancroft, Idaho working for Grandpa Dave! It was great! The pizzas were also awesome!

Check out this video I tossed on Facebook! It's at a cool place called Råbjerg Mile (aka a bunch of sand dunes) up in my area! We filmed there and I got to go down a hill on a cardboard box and low-key killed myself.... But don't worry, it didn't hurt or anything! :)

I can't remember much else right now! Love you all have a good week!

F-HAVN

Hey y'all! What's up? This week wasn't anything too special, but I have some fun stuff to share, so let's hop on in!

Last Monday I drove all day to get to my new area in northern Denmark. It was cool to see the countryside and we got some Burger Shack (so nice)...and I just got to chill with Ældste Jaursch all day. That was a massive W! We got to my new area, Frederikshavn, and it is a cool little coastal port town. Honestly, it's a quiet little town, but I have some islands in my area that I really want to visit. The pictures from my time here should hopefully be pretty nice. I am with Ældste Leland from Oregon. He is a pretty cool guy. We should get along just fine!

I got to play some beach volleyball and soccer this week with some members, their kids, and some friends. For those who know me, I LOVE VOLLEYBALL. It was so fun to get back out there and just have a good time. I think I surprised some of the members--but mostly myself--because I actually remembered what I was doing with a volleyball hahahah. I had some flashbacks of the 2v2 grass volleyball tournament that Noah Jones and I played in down at UVU before the mission. Good times, good times! It was so great to meet the Frederikshavn members too. I'm sad to say that my volleyball skills are a little rusty...it's definitely been a while since I last played.

We also had fun exploring the city this week during our contacting and knocking. And, we got the responsibility of creating some videos for our mission Facebook page this week. If y'all want to hear me speak some Danish, check out Jesu Kristi Kirke-Den Danske Mission

I had an AWESOME opportunity to give a talk at the Aalborg Elders' baptism. The sister they baptized doesn't speak Danish sooooooo they needed an English speaker and the ward doesn't apparently have many. It was awesome! It's great whenever someone gets baptized here in Denmark. It doesn't happen very often so it was a BIG DEAL! We were happy for her; I'll drop a picture below.

My mom sent a package a while ago and it had some American mac and cheese.... I enjoyed that this week!

We got another burger in Aalborg--because why not!--and it started POURING rain. Like my entire suit was drenched while I was trying to eat my burger. On my order, they also spelled my name Tads... TADS? How in the world did she get Tads from Tate? Hahahah whatever. I thought it was funny.

Today, I got to explore some of the area to take videos for our area's Facebook page. It was nice to see a lot of pretty places and I am excited to see even more. There is a lot to see in Nordjylland!

That's it for this week! Thanks for reading this far! I love and miss you all!

Guess who's moving? +splits x2

Helløjså!

I'm back for another week and in this edition I'm moving back to the opposite side of the country!

This week was pretty good. I got to go on splits with the APs on Tuesday in Roskilde! (Add Roskilde to my list of cities I've been to.) It was fun to be out with Elder Peterson. That man is SUCH a good missionary, wow. We were out contacting together and we ended up having a good conversation with a lady. We got her number so that the APs can meet with her again. Massive W. Plus we ate at this place called Bagels to Eat and it was fire. I said goodbye to AP Kresge as well and that was sad bc he is dipping back to Utah.

We got a call during splits from a man who was a earlier investigator and he really wanted to come back to the church and commit to a better life, so we made an appointment to visit him the day after! We went up to Helsingør and just talked with him and read the scriptures with him. He is very smart and sincere so we are hoping he continues to learn.

Then we had district council. I gave a training on how we can better focus on our purpose as missionaries and invite people to Christ... Hope it went okay for everyone I taught! Afterward, we had a Facebook-finding activity and got another bagel sandwich in Søborg to celebrate Søster O'Connor because she is going home too. My mission is losing so many missionaries... I think we have about 40 missionaries total... including Iceland now.

I also went on splits with Ældste Neiderman again and that was a good time. We grabbed a kebab for lunch and just contacted for a while. It was fun and effective.

Splits with Ældste Niederman
Now for the juiceee. We got our transfer calls and I'm going to Frederikshavn with Ældste Leland! It's gonna be hype! I was there before I got transferred to Hillerød, but I've never served there.... Weird situation to describe, hahaha. But yeah, that's happening today so I said my goodbyes to the ward yesterday and today. It was a sad day, but I'm excited for the next adventure!

Sorry this email is so long but a lot happened. Hope y'all are doing well!

Love from the 6-hour car ride,

Ældste Modersitzki

This sweet lady taught Tate how to knit this tie. He knew
he would never finish it, so Helmi finished it for him before he left.
Tate and his good friend, Ældste Moore.
Tate adored the Andersens. Thanks for being so, so good to him!

1year1year1year1year

What's up folkssss? I'm back, but with limited time, so I'm sorry if this email is short.....

First and foremost I hit my year mark on Friday! That is extremely wild. It went by extremely fast and slow, and idk how mission time works, but all I know is that I'm happy to be here and happy it's worked out to this point! I've learned more than I could put in an email. I'm looking forward to even more!

Best EQ activity!
We celebrated by attending an Elders Quorum activity that night! I was with one of the newly baptized members and we took 2nd place for the activity portion! I love that man so much we get along well. We also grilled up some nice food and I got to see two of the newly baptized members make more friends in the ward. That made me super happy! :) We also had a less active there too and he was having a good time! It worked out soooo well!

We have been knocking a lot and honestly it feels the same as before Corona. That means people aren't open to religion, but I'll find some I am sure. They have to be out here! Just gotta put in the time and work! :)

I also got to give a talk on Sunday. Kinda fun kinda scary. Mostly super hot because AC isn't a thing here hahaha. The suit was a little bit of a killer but I survived!

We did some more service this week! Got a possible lesson out of it next time. Big Ws fam. Bigggg Ws.

Hump Day package. :)
My mom is the greatest and sent me a package for the one year mark! All the American food goods were there. I was in heaven eating some Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Ældste Vestergaard tried his first Cheez It and Oatmeal Cream Pie. The man is a FAN of Cheez Its, but the cream pie was a little too much hahaha. I don't blame him though. It was almost too sweet for me!

We had John Bytheway come speak to the mission again about Doctrine and Covenants 4 with special emphasis on the word embark. Man that guy gets the spirit going. Idk how he does it! It was a way good time though!

We've got a busy week coming up with transfers at the end, so we will see if I move after 4 months here in Allerød!

PS shout our to my cousin McCall and her husband Tanner on the new baby!

PPS we have a Facebook page called Jesu Kristi Kirke - Den Danske Mission. Give that boy a like when ya can!

Cheez Its for the WIN! Even the Danes like them. :)

To knit or not to knit

Heyooooo! It's y'alls fav Danish missionary! This week was something else! Let's hop in!

I had the coolest opportunity to go through the temple with Ældste Vestergaard for his first time. I kinda felt like a proud father/brother, (I don't know how I should describe that), but it was awesome. Before we went through the temple we got to eat at a café in Copenhagen with his family and both sets of grandparents, and one set of grandparents were with us in the temple! I think I could be adopted in the family if I wanted to, hahaha. The temple was so special. We were one of the first people to go through the temple after Corona. It was a massive blessing honestly. A good kick start.

The district
We also had a district Facebook-finding party and district activity this week! We did some good old finding, knocking doors and contacting as a district! It felt like we were on mini-splits, so that was awesome! For our district activity we got to go to the castle up in Helsingør that the play Hamlet is based off of! I had been there before but we went inside and saw the interior of the castle and they had this little play in the different rooms. It was sick! Of course we finished it off with a brisket burger and fries from a street food place..... Typical me hahah.

We had a lesson this week! Our friend had a lot of questions for us, and we also taught her the Plan of Salvation. She was happy for the Book of Mormon and said she would read it, so that is awesome!

We had an eating appointment with a family that I love and we had burgers (maybe that's why I love them so much) and the dad was like hey you should try this hot sauce and I was like okay I'm American so I can take it.... I couldn't take it, but my pride wouldn't let me take any off of the burger, so I finished it hahahah. Good times man. Good times.

I learned how to knit this week from the members we live with. I started to knit a tie! We will see how it turns out hahah.

I hit my one year mark on Friday! It's been a crazy time, but I'm happy to be here and staying here. Overall it's been so good for me.

We had some funny times knocking. It felt good to get in the groove again! We talked to a lady for like an hour and it was just funny, but a good conversation. We had a quick lesson there. I doubt it will go anywhere, but it was fun!

I think that's it this week for me! Have a good one!

To be or not to be,

At the Copenhagen temple

Remember how Tate's birthday package came a month late?
He finally had time to celebrate!

I'm pretty sure he did this just for his mom, but I'm grateful. :)

Tate's sister, Erin, who served her mission in Sweden, took a picture in this very spot. Tate and his companion recreated it.
