Restartttttt

The new companions: Ældste Christensen (from Morgan, UT),
Ældste Jaursch (from Germany) & Ældste Mod
Hejså! What's up?

Week 8 or so of quarantine. I've lost count tbh. Denmark is kinda opening back up so things are looking up, back on the missionary grind soon? Maybe.

The reason I called this email restart is because I've nearly restarted all possible aspects of missionary work. Everything from knocking to member work and even the people around me. It is all very, very different. And I guess I should expect some growing pains with all that but I'm kinda getting in the groove. This week I started to meet some of the members here in Allerød and they are so awesome. They feed the missionaries all the time. I haven't made a dinner all week! How whack is that? The Facebook work is good. There are so many nice people on the Internet, regardless of if they want to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ or not. I'm happy to have them as friends!

In-person district council
Guess which mission is the first in the world to bring back in-person district councils... If you guessed Copenhagen Denmark. You would be correct. Nice to be back seeing the other missionaries again and reuniting with my old comp Ældste Millett! Good times!

This week we were able to do some service for some non-members that live close to one of our awesome members! I got to take out a massive bush, some tree roots and weed a big garden. It felt so nice to be outside and doing things. I felt like I was back working in the yard and wow, I never thought I would have missed that.... but I did! They are some nice people too!

I read a decent bit of the Old Testament and I wanted to share a scripture I ran across this week. It comes from 2 Samuel 22:29. For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness. What a fire scripture! Straight forward and to the point. The Lord has control.

As a mission we had John Bytheway give us a Zoom fireside because his son is in my mission. It was fire. He spoke about keeping Christ our main focus and not letting the darkness eclipse our light, or in other words, don't let your doubts block out what you know to be true. Kinda goes well with that last scripture eh?

Anyways that's all that happened this week I think. Denmark is getting pretty!

It felt great to get outside and do some yardwork!

XO TRIO LIFE

Well some news for y'all. I'm getting transferred.... Again. To the other side of the country. A place called Allerød, with my Boi Ældste Jaursch from the MTC and Ældste Christensen who I met a while back! I'm psyched to be with those bros but I'm kinda tired of moving around. That makes 5 areas/places in 1 month. I was in Aalborg (my area) for about 10 days, Herning (1st 4-man) for 2 weeks and Frederikshavn (2nd 4-man) for 1 week. It's tough moving again and I regret unpacking my suitcases, but like, the Lord's will right? And I was able to see A TON of the country and I'm very thankful for that!

Now for this week. There was lots of Facebook finding, Bible bashing and seeing some really cool places. Frederikshavn is super dope. It is right on the ocean and the harbor has some big ships in it which I loved. It has a little bit of a beach town vibe to it, plus it has some really cool WW2 bunkers and cannons! It was lit. I also saw the very tip top of Denmark called Skagen and there was some cool bunkers, seals, and sand! The beach was soooo nice, I even got to step foot in 2 oceans at once! The oceans don't actually mix so I just saw the waves hitting each other and that was dope. I was also the only smart one who brought Chacos so I got to touch the water. That was definitely a highlight!

We did a lot of Facebook finding and member lessons which are going well. I think the member lessons help both the members and the missionaries a lot!

Hillerød/Allerød seems super awesome. I haven't seen much of it yet, but I'm sure I'll love it. Fun fact: I've been in nearly all the Elder areas in my mission now (either on splits or serving there)! I'm just missing Odense and Bornholm so I'll let ya know if more whack stuff happens!

God Påske!

The flyer that Farr and I made/translated into Danish ourselves
Whelp. I'm still in Denmark ladies and gents. Living it up. I don't really remember too much of what happened this week but I'll try!

First off, y'all know the new church logo? I've seen the original statue in person... Not to flex but I'm gonna flex that. Thorvaldsen (the sculptor) is Danish.... Isn't that kind of dope? I think so at least.

This week consisted of getting bashed over Facebook Messenger and getting thrashed in Monopoly (my luck and dice roll is so bad). I would never go to Vegas because I can't even get a good dice roll for Monopoly money, let alone for real money.

We went for a run this week and goodness, I'm out of shape. I've been missing the Randers 5k because my body needs it, haha.

Sunrise
Lots of Facebook finding this week led to someone responding to my post asking for a fast by saying we aren't Christian... I laughed and sent him a personal message saying aye, we are actually Christians and thus we hit a Bible bash. He whipped out some sources that were rather questionable and I just was like.... Do you want me to tell you what I believe in or do you want to tell me what I believe in... Lol. I am starting to understand how serving in the Bible Belt would be. Shout out to those people. They really are the best missionaries ever.

Easter/ Påske was pretty fine, nothing much happened. We watched church online and had a little mission-wide "Music and the Spoken Word" which was good but weird. Zoom calls aren't my favorite. I prefer in-person stuff. I read the story of the crucifixion in Danish and that was special. I can't really describe how happy I was after I read it. I love my Savior and I know He lives and knows each of us individually.

I'm getting moved again to a place called Frederikshavn and I'm excited but sick of moving. That makes 3 times in 4 weeks or so but it's whatever.

I hope y'all have a good week, stay safe!

Love ya Boi,

Straight W's

Ya boy back again. Still quarantined. Still chilling. Still getting a little fatter. Let's dive on in, haha!

First big W of the week was that I didn't eat any burgers so I am curbing my addiction.... W
We have been talking to some members and sharing some spiritual thoughts and all that good jazz.... W
Found a little basketball hoop today... W
I have messaged and have had good convos over Facebook Messenger with random people so that's a W
GENERAL CONFERENCE WAS BOMB! WWWW
But really though. Like dang that was awesome. I hope y'alls testimony increased as much as mine. It really gave me some answers concerning my work out here....big W

Now for some L's
We played Monopoly in Danish like 4 times and I got slaughtered every time. I'm playing with some professionals out here. Taking big L's.
Ate like 2 liters of ice cream and 2 bags of chips and that was an L. Tasted way nice though.

Farr is a chef and has made biscuits and gravy, bread, and Weinerbrød (danishes). We're still eating well.
I'm reading the Bible and hit Numbers today. Big progress.

Tough but good week. Loving life.
