The one with the Blood Sausage and the false priest

A real Danish Christmas dinner

Happy late Thanksgiving from a place where it was just another normal winter/fall Thursday! I am very thankful that I can be a missionary and spread God's light to all of his children! Name a better thing than that to say around the table on Thanksgiving.... Bet you can't.

Whatta week! It was way cold this week! It started snowing and of course it didn't stick. Every day is about 35 degrees with a -8 degree windchill and 95 percent humidity. It's a little cold hahah. I am layering up to say the least. We had some great experiences and some not so great experiences so I guess you could say I am in fact... a missionary.... gotta love it. Start her off strong with the fact that I can hold most kinds of convos in Danish. So like... W. I have been reading the Book of Mormon in Danish and wow.... I've never read slower in my life, but that is fine. It takes about an hour for me to read a page and understand what it means. Small steps people... small steps.

Thanksgiving dinner this week was a pizza given to us by a non-member that we helped move. He was way kind and generous. The highlight of the day was calling the fam though. I got to see all of the cousins at a get-together and it felt almost like I was there.... Besides the delays and all that on google hangouts hahahah. The second highlight of the week was that we were contacting with a member and we talked to this dude... Wearing tight black leather tights.... and painted nails. He told us that he loved Jesus and that he was a false priest... he literally said he was a false priest. He then proceeded to ask Ældste Farr if he could heal his ear (because Ældste Farr is deaf in one ear). Ældste Farr said, "Well yeah! Of course!" Long story short, it didn't work because, you know, we are the ones with real Priesthood power. :) By the end of our conversation he no longer wanted to talk to the missionaries, just the member to try to intimidate her. She is the strongest member I have ever met so she stood up for herself and in perfectly respectable missionary form did not get mad or angry. I was so proud. We left after he said "Woe unto you" like 75875 times and he also said that Mormon was Satan so that was fun. All in Danish. He also said he would throw up if we would sing him a song... I nearly broke out in song but being a conservative missionary I didn't. So fun. The member was happy that she could have her first "real missionary" experience.

The same member whose name is Jennifer (she is the best) had us over for a "real Danish Christmas dinner" on Sunday. It was way whack but I love trying all of this stuff so I was a happy guy! We had a lot of meat... like a lot. My favorite part was for sure the blood sausage though. Sounds way good but kinda tastes like gingerbread, but it's meat... yeah IDK, but you know I ate a ton.

Sunday was a big miracle. One of our friends that we were unsure if we should continue teaching or not kept her commitment to come to church on Sunday! We were so hyped! She came with her daughter and I think they both really liked it!

Also shout out to Ældste Farr because he had his Bday this week! We went out to celebrate and eat some burgers in the cold! Gotta love Denmark! This week went by super fast so I am a happy guy!

Love you all! Remember to think of Christ this Christmas season!
