Frederiksborg Castle

This week was way fun! We had a cool lesson with our friend who is progressing towards baptism this week. We taught the plan of salvation and she was pretty receptive! We are hoping to get her to church this week. She is getting there! Our other friend that was "golden" told us that he didn't want his info in our lesson tracker, so we told him if that was the case we couldn't teach him if we couldn't keep his info. We deleted his info and then he called back saying that he wanted to meet with us and didn't realize it. He really likes meeting with us.

We were out knocking this week and we found a bunch of potential friends and they were all really positive so were are really excited to teach them this week. We have the most lessons planned this week out of any week since I got here. We are so excited to teach all these positive people!

It is getting colder and colder so I have been layering up a lot more. It is awesome to see people all bundled up. I might need more scarves and sweaters and I just bought some more wool socks. It is so cold and the wind makes it cold, but it is better than Utah's cold.

Cool stuff this week literally. hahahah
- We went to Frederiksborg Castle to celebrate the mission getting their baptismal goal this year! Way cool!
- Danish is still hard but good. I am definitely getting a lot better!
- I had some really old lady ask if I had teeth and then grabbed my cheek. It was funny and I really didn't know what to do.
- I haven't seen the sun too much this week. Looking pale as usual.
- We deep cleaned our entire kitchen so that was awesome! It looks soooo good!
- We also built an Ikea chair and that was fun!

Have a good week!

Mod's Mission Cut

Haircut Mod

Another pday what's up!? This week flew by. I feel like I was typing yesterday!

This week was not super eventful but that is okay! We have a good few appointments this coming week so that is way awesome! The work is progressing and we have had a couple friends in church the last couple weeks! Small and simple things! Progress is happening slowly but surely. We have been pushing hard to get 10 more baptisms by the end of the year so we are trying real hard to find the prepared! Lots of good convos but no fruit just yet.

We went and knocked on the Bellahoj apartments again, but a different building. We had slowly been working through the building with nothing more than a no thanks. We ended up talking to a guy who was way willing to talk to us and we talked to him for a good 30 minutes on his doorstep and found out he has a family and all that. We got a return appointment and gave him a pamphlet. His kid is way dope and is my homie. So we will see how that goes! Our appointments are way good. We haven't had too many whack ones just yet.

Three months on the mish with Cook
This week we had zone conference and it was fun to see and meet so many super cool people. It was awesome because almost the whole thing was in Danish and I understood almost all of it! We had some good food too. Overall awesome! We also met a guy from Germany and I was able to practice my German. Shout out to Frau Lindsay! I could understand lots but just didn't know what to say back, hahahah RIP. Guess my skills in Danish are officially better now!

I also decided my hair was way too long this week because it poured rain and we try to keep our hoods off so we don't look real shady... It was long and gross and drenched. So Ældste Madsen came over for splits and your boy Mod got his first "mission haircut" hahahah! It was funny and now it is way short. I look 13 again. I am the tallest 13-year-old in Denmark I think.

It really was a good week. Spiritual thought for the week: Don't look for the huge miracles that come from a still small voice. The Lord consistently does small things that will eventually be big. I have had a hard time being patient for these small miracles to make big huge miracles happen. As we look for those little miracles we begin to see more of them!

Love you all and have a good week!

Spooky szn

Heyyyooo! It's your fav Danish Elder back at it again!

Whatta week whatta week, where to start.... Miracles are always a way good place to start, right? Right. We went knocking in this place called Bellahoj, right on the border of our area. We started on this huge apartment building at the very top thinking we would work our way down. The first couple of people weren't there and then one guy told us to leave and go find somewhere else. We laughed and said okay. The next door we went to we decided to pray about because we hadn't prayed before we started to knock. We knocked and only said we were from the church and this lady said, "Okay. One second," tidied up her apartment and let us in to teach her. She apparently had been taught before and we were able to teach her the entire Restoration, pray with her, get her email and send her a spoken Book of Mormon in Danish, with a challenge to read. It was incredible. We are so grateful for her. It took up our whole night so we were happy about that!

A church in downtown Copenhagen
We had another lesson with a lady that has a son in the ward that is about to go on a mission and her friends! We had a good dinner and then started teaching on prayer and the Holy Ghost. She wasn't feeling it too much I don't think, but that's okay. We challenged her to pray about the Book of Mormon and I was able to give my testimony of prayer and an experience in straight Danish and the spirit was so strong! I could have grabbed a knife and cut through it. She didn't end up coming to church like she usually does, but she sent a nice message saying she has a lot to think and pray about. She is also going to talk to her son a little bit more on our church and figure all that stuff out with him. That is an absolute win for us and her! Then, right after church we met this man who thought that church started at 1 instead of 10 and he was sad to have missed it. He isn't religious or anything but likes the way that churches and songs make him feel. He loves the peace of it all. We got his number and we were like uhhhh thank you Heavenly Father, wow. We gave out a lot of pamphlets this week too! That is always way good.

We didn't meet any absolute crazies this week, but one guy thought we were going to mug him. What kind of thieves look 18, have white shirts and ties on, and have our names on a name tag? We laughed and then the next person we talked to said no thanks, and as we were walking away called us crazy just for being religious and wanting to spread happiness. We were just like okay hahaha have a good day. I think people don't like us too much because they know we can actually help them, but that means that they have to change and admit something is wrong in their lives. Danes are not about all that! That's alright though!

Danish is getting easier and easier. Now it's just the whole missionary part, hahahah!

Best Halloween costume ever
Halloween was way cool! I loved seeing kids in costumes and all the candy prices soar sky high. We went out with a member contacting and everyone was in a hurry. That is a problem with holidays in every mission!

I read a cool scripture this week: Alma 7:23: And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle, easy to be entreated, full of patience and long-suffering, being temperate in all things, being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times, asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal, always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.

It was a great week! Hope everyone is surviving Utah's crazy bi-polar weather!
