We started off the week by heading to Zone Conference in Aarhus with the office elders over in Jylland. It was a good time for sure! It was the first in-person Zone Conference that we have had since last July or something like that. Kinda wild. It only was an hour and a half in person and then an online session later in the evening. Because of the church building which we were at, our laptop was set up away from the main chapel and I accidentally cut off Præsident Olsen with a video for part of his training.... lollll my bad. The online portion went fine and our training was short but pretty good. We just talked about habits and doing small things every day to be better. We also had a testimony meeting about the Book of Mormon for the zone. We had just finished up reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days so that was good!
Then for an intermission we went on splits with our friends down in Odense, Ældste Christensen and Ældste Croft. Ældste Croft is brand new so we really went hard haha. It was great to see them again and work down in their area. Odense is pretty sick! We snagged them some nice pastries as y'all would expect and shared the love. We also got to see a monument dedicated to Hans Christian Andersen (Danish fairytale guy) on his bday. Shout out to him lol.
Sjælland zone conference went about the same... Didn't cut off Præsident Olsen this time hahah but instead tried to mute a senior missionary and accidentally skipped the video that was playing.... Big ole facepalm to round that boy off hahahah.
After Sjælland ZC the Bornholm elders (Ældste Brown and Ældste Hogge) got to stay over and watch General Conference with us. It was a riot. Those dudes are so fun. Plus General Conference was super good. My favorite talk was for sure President Nelson's talk about faith. It felt like a slap in the face directed to me to get my faith together and get going hahaha. It was definitely one of the moments where he was speaking and I could just feel that he was inspired and a prophet. He was answering doubts I didn't even know I had. Super good stuff in there.
On the topic of spirituality, I started studying the New Testament with the Institute study manual and mannnnn that is so helpful. The stories in the Bible feel much more real!
We got to hit some service this week, I love service. We just moved some brick tile things for one of my favorite families in Denmark. Then we had a little break before dinner and it was way nice outside so we tossed around the football in our car. I ended up getting my first sunburn of the year.... it was 61 degrees and had a low UV index.... gonna be a long summer for me if it stays this way hahah.
Fun Facts:
• The Denmark Copenhagen mission has more sisters than elders, and if things stay the same we will almost end up having more elders in Iceland than Denmark.... That has never happened before... ever.
• Denmark has like 4 or 5 holidays the week of Easter which correlate to biblical events. They get work off on Thursday (the day Christ washed the disciples feet), Friday (Good Friday/ Crucifixion), Saturday (no good reason there honestly... just felt like not working), Sunday (resurrection), and Monday (a day to recover from the Easter hangover), so buying food is a tough one these days with nearly every store closed hahaha.
Anyways this boy got LONG, Happy Easter from Denmark!
Love from Skovvejen,
Ældste Modersitzki
