A pastry a day keeps the doctor away

Aloha!

I had a total of zero minutes to email last week so I apologize for the lack of me in your inbox.

I don't really have much to say today, honestly. Some elders finished their missions this last week and I am pretty good friends with two of them, so that was harddddd to see them go. A mission is a revolving door of goodbyes, but it is okay because I am sure I will see these people again! I'm looking forward to it.

I started my second to last transfer this last week. I am still with Ældste Madsen in Slagelse. This will be four transfers together with him here and I am still excited about it. He's a great missionary.

This week we did a lot of goal setting for the transfer, and my favorite goal we made is to eat 36 pastries this transfer... That is one pastry a day, every day besides Sunday... Should be easy. The first week was easy at least. We pound those pastries. It's a vibe.

We had some good eating appointments this last week too. No real funny stories. The people we ate with are some big examples to me of who I should be when I grow up. It's kinda sick that I can talk to these people about everything in Danish as well. I never really thought I would get to this point when I first got here, but with God anything is possible!

Quick little spiritual thought: I read through some of the Book of Acts this last week and I really loved verse 8 in chapter 8. It simply states, "and there was great joy in that city." This is right after the apostles came through Samaria and healed the sick and preached to the people. Imagine how great a joy can be felt when one person repents and feels the joy of the gospel. Now imagine a full city! Although I haven't converted whole cities, I still feel as though I can relate to this because my joy in the gospel is as large as a whole city's joy. The gospel is love and the result is joy and eternal life. It can't get better!

I'm happy to be a missionary and happy to be in Denmark!

Love from København,

Ældste Modersitzki

The departing missionaries
